Program Overview

The Technology in Industrial Welding program provides students with both theoretical instruction and hands-on training in industrial welding techniques. Students learn to operate specialized welding equipment and perform a variety of welding processes on metals such as aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, and calamine. The program emphasizes real-world applications used in industrial, manufacturing, and construction environments.

Program Objective

The objective of the Technology in Industrial Welding program is to prepare students with the technical skills, safety knowledge, and practical experience required to perform professional welding and metal fabrication tasks. Graduates are trained in multiple welding methods, cutting techniques, and equipment operation while adhering to industry safety standards and best practices. The program also introduces foundational skills for independent or business-based work.
Employment Opportunities:

What You’ll Learn

Blueprint Reading & Welding Symbols

Drafting and interpretation of welding blueprints and symbols, and identification of basic components.

Flat Position Welding

Operate electric-arc machines; identify and use the required tools and equipment, safety rules, joint types, and electrode movements when welding.

Vertical Position Welding

Fundamentals and procedure for depositing straight ascending and descending beads and butt joints.

Horizontal Position Welding

Fundamentals and procedure for depositing straight beads and butt joints.

Weld Joint Preparation

Learn and safely execute the different types of weld joints.

Overhead Position Welding

Combine learned techniques to weld joints in overhead or elevated positions.

Industrial Pipe Welding

Techniques for cutting, beveling, tack welding, and welding industrial pipe.

Specialized Welding
